House Cleaning Tip: How to Clean Stuffed Toys

Stuffed toys might be cute and cuddly, but they can be a potential breeding ground for germs and bacteria that may be harmful for your kid's health. The problem is, many of us hesitate to clean them on our own for fear that we might just damage the toy. While there is so much that professional cleaning services can do, you can always take the job on your own by following these steps:

Clean with Washing Machine

Before throwing in the toy to the machine, make sure that you have read the instructions regarding the proper settings for cleaning stuffed toys.  Always check the care label to check for any laundering recommendations and inspect the toy for any rips or tears to the seams. Any stains on the toy can be pre-treated with a mild laundry detergent, provided that the detergent is tested on an inconspicuous part of the toy to avoid discoloration or bleaching. Once you're ready, place the toy inside a pillow case and wash. You can choose to add fabric softener to make the toy softer and cuddlier.

Drying the Toy

After washing, allow the toy to air dry; do not use the clothes dryer. The wet toy can be hung out on the clothesline but be careful to keep it out of direct sunlight to avoid fading. When dry, a good brushing will help the toy to stay plush and cuddly.

Now, isn't that so simple?

Office Cleaning Tip: How to Work Efficiently

If your office is in an office building or other establishment, you might have control over the clutter, but the potential for germs is greater because you come into contact with more people. Following is a checklist of office cleaning tip to help you work more efficiently.

1. De-clutter your workspace. This may seem obvious, but you cannot give your office a thorough cleaning if it is cluttered with paper, books, files, or anything else that needs to be put away. Put these away before anything else.

2. Start with your desk. Once your desk is clutter-free, this is the place that needs to be cleaned first. It is the place where you put your hands, where others probably put their hands, and where food or drink is possibly consumed.

3. If you have bookshelves, a work table, chairs, or any other furniture in your office, wipe those down next. Make sure to do edges, as well, not just surfaces.

4. Waste baskets are for wastes and we often forget that they can become some of the dirtiest places in our homes or offices. Every so often, give your waste basket a good cleaning with soap and water or cleaning spray.

5. If you have carpet, vacuum regularly. If you have tiled or another type of hard floor, keep it swept clean and mop at least once a week. If you have a plastic chair roller over your carpet, be sure to clean it as well, using the spray cleaner.

Domestic Cleaning Tips: Speed Cleaning to Save Time

While paid domestic cleaning services is almost the best resort to keep your home tidy at the quickest possible time, certain life events just won't always make it happen. For instance, your friends decided to come over as such short notice and your house looks like a pile of mess. How do you deal with that? Would you  call a cleaning service right away? What if they can't make it on time? If this is the case, then you have no other choice but get your hands dirty. Here's some nifty speed cleaning tips that you might find useful.

1. Schedule every task in details. If you're going to clean the entire house, you need to sort out which room to clean first, or what task should first before the other. Nothing beats proper organization.

2. Wear comfortable clothes. Grab the most comfortable shirt and shorts you have and allow your body to breathe in motion. There's nothing like an old, ragged shirt to accompany a whole lot of cleaning. Keep your hair out of the way by tying it in a bun. Be as comfortable as you can. This will allow you to minimize distraction and beat the tasks fast as you could.

3. Prepare your protective tools. Bring out your supportive shoes, kneepads, gloves, and apron. You don't want to end up battered with germs and bacteria after your cleaning session.

4. Don't quit! Focus on the schedule that you have laid out and do it until you've completed the checklist. Don't mind the time as it will just go by quickly if you keep your hands busy.
